§ Mr. Peter BottomleyStatistics are not collected for geographical areas smaller than wages inspectorate divisions. In the Yorkshire and Humberside division of the wages inspectorate, 941 establishments were found to have underpaid 2,227 workers in 1983. No employers in Leeds and west Yorkshire were prosecuted last year for offences under the Wages Councils Act 1979.
