HC Deb 23 November 1984 vol 68 c327W
Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish the results of his investigation into the methods for calculating savings from the work of specialist claims control.

Mr. Newton

[pursuant to his reply, 12 November 1984, c. 149]: The study into specialist claims control (SCC) was extended to incorporate an exercise to provide comparative figures for the cost-effectiveness of other departmental measures directed at the prevention of fraud, in order to help us achieve the most appropriate balance between SCC and other measures. We will announce our conclusions in the light of the results when these have been considered.
