§ Mr. MacGregorUnder the Dairy Produce Quotas Regulations my Department is responsible for verifying that special case claims are in the form and contain such information as is required and that the applicant may be entitled to secondary quota under the regulations. Thereafter it is for the tribunal and its local panels to determine the extent to which each claimant is entitled to secondary quota.
More than 23,000 special case claims have been received, and of those analysed so far over 80 per cent. included a claim on grounds of investment in increased production.
