HC Deb 22 November 1984 vol 68 c281W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what steps he proposes to take to encourage public debate on the report of the inspector on the siting of a third London airport;

(2) whether he has received the report of the inspector on the siting of a third London airport;

(3) whether he proposes to publish the report of the inspector on the siting of a third London airport.

Mr. Macfarlane

My right hon. Friends have not yet received the Inspector's report. As my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport promised when he moved the Second Reading of the Civil Aviation Bill, the inspector's report will be published as soon as possible after it has been received because of the relationship with the British Airways prospectus. The House will then have an opportunity to give its views before my right hon. Friends announce their decision.
