Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the total income tax revenue generated from employees in the clothing and footwear manufacturing industries in each of the last five years.

The available information relates to the amounts of income tax deducted from the earnings of employees under the pay-as-you-earn system. Employees are classified to the industry in which the majority of those paid from a particular location are engaged. Estimates for the last five tax years for which information is available are as follows:
