HC Deb 22 November 1984 vol 68 c227W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the boards of inquiry which have taken place under the auspices of his Department since May 1979.

Mr. Heseltine

There has been no change in the practice relating to boards of inquiry since May 1979. The position under this Government remains as under the last Government.

Boards of inquiry are convened to investigate a wide range of matters, each being staffed at a level appropriate to its content. There is no central register of such boards and preparation of a list as requested would require disproportionate effort.
