HC Deb 21 November 1984 vol 68 c181W
Mr. Home Robertson

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the scientists known to him to have expressed reservations about the conclusions of the Washington conference on the longterm consequences of nuclear war.

Mrs. Fenner

No formal list is kept by my Department, but I note that reservations about the conclusions of this study have been expressed by Professor Edward Teller, Dr. S. F. Singer and Mr. John Maddox, in addition to six scientists—Dr. Norman Myers, R. P. Turco, O. B. Toon, T. P. Ackerman, J. B. Pollack, and Carl Sagan — who were themselves involved in this study.
