§ Mr. Speedasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list the delays occurring in the completion of the remaining sections of the M25 motorway; and who will carry the financial responsibility for these delays.
§ Mrs. Chalker[pursuant to her reply, 19 November 1984, c. 47]: Some formal extensions of contract completion dates have been granted by the independent engineers to the various contracts. None of these prejudices our target of completing the entire M25 by the end of 1986. Any delays over and above those formally approved would render the contractor(s) concerned liable to liquidated damages.
