HC Deb 20 November 1984 vol 68 c129W
Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will conduct a survey into the reasons why items prescribed by doctors are not dispensed by chemists.

Mr. John Patten

[pursuant to his reply, 16 November 1984, c. 386]: The survey suggested would serve no useful purpose, since the arrangements for prescription charge exemption ensure no one need be deprived of necessary medication on financial grounds.
