asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how the level of rates in the Huddersfield area compares with the level of rates in the south-eastern region.

In 1984–85, the general rate poundage in Kirklees district council (which includes Huddersfield) is 1.7 per cent. higher than the average general rate poundage in the south eastern region.
