HC Deb 19 November 1984 vol 68 c2W
22. Sir Raymond Gower

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his latest assessment of the impact of the milk quota scheme on farmers in Wales and in the Vale of Glamorgan, respectively; how many farmers in each case have submitted reports and claims which have been deemed of special need; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

Some 4,500 special case applications have been submitted in Wales of which 56 came from the Vale of Glamorgan. It is too early for accurate analysis of the results of these cases. The effects of the implementation of milk quotas will depend on decisions taken by individual farmers.
