HC Deb 19 November 1984 vol 68 c79W
Mr. Nicholson

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what percentage reduction on 1983 milk deliveries was applied in each region in determining the regional or provincial regional wholesale quotas published in the London Gazette on 25 July.

Mr. MacGregor

In England and Wales the percentage reduction applied to 1983 milk deliveries to dairies to calculate the quota available for the two quota regions—the MMB area and the Isles of Scilly—taken together is 6.25 per cent. The equivalent figure in Scotland for the six Scottish quota regions taken together is 6.39 per cent. In Northern Ireland the corresponding figure is 10.35 per cent., but this figure falls to 5.83 per cent. when the 65,000 tonne allocation for Northern Ireland from the Community reserve is added into the Northern Ireland wholesale quota allocation.
