§ Mrs. McCurleyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement about proposed changes in the scope of grant aid towards the in-service training of teachers.
§ Mr. YoungerI have today laid before Parliament the Education (Grants for In-Service Training of Teachers) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1984, which add to the list of subject areas in which attendance by teachers at in-service courses may attract grant aid in the current financial year. The added courses, all of which are among the national courses sponsored for 1985 by the National Committee for In-Service Training of Teachers, are related to management of staff development, writing of course modules in physical education, and the curriculum for young people with severe mental handicap.
