HC Deb 15 November 1984 vol 67 c328W
Mr. Fatchett

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if a decision has been made to close any Manpower Services Commission sponsored skillcentres.

Mr. Peter Morrison

The Manpower Services Commission decided in January this year that it would review the agency's progress towards full cost recovery in the autumn. The commission will discuss this review in December.

Mr. Fatchett

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what budgets have been set for the skillcentre training agency (training division) of the Manpower Services Commission for (a) 1984–85 and (b) 1985–86.

Mr. Peter Morrison

The skillcentre training agency trading account budget for 1984–85 is:

Millions
£
Expenditure 102.8
Receipts 78.5

Provision has been made to meet a trading account deficit of up to £24 million from the Manpower Service Commission's grant-in-aid.

The agency's budget for 1985–86 has not yet been agreed, but provision will be made to meet a trading account deficit of up to £12 million from the commission's grant-in-aid.
