HC Deb 14 November 1984 vol 67 c284W
Mr. John Fraser

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if payment of inner city partnership grants to Brixton Cares for Kids has been terminated; how much grant has been paid; and what lessons are to be drawn from his Department's experience with this project.

Sir George Young

Payment of urban programme grant to Brixton Cares for Kids, a project which has, until recently, run successfully, was terminated when the group decided to dissolve earlier this year. The amount of grant paid up to the date of termination was:

£
Capital: 46,724
Revenue:
1982–83 25,830
1983–84 44,690
1984–85 11,000

An inquiry into the project has been held by Lambeth council's social services directorate and the result of this is expected shortly. Until the inquiry has been completed, it would be inappropriate to comment further.
