asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the number of persons unemployed in the county of South Yorkshire; and how many of these are young people who have never experienced normal employment.

On 11 October the number of unemployed claimants in South Yorkshire was 96,269. In the area covered by the South Yorkshire jobcentres there were 7,393 unemployed school leavers under 18 years of age.
