HC Deb 13 November 1984 vol 67 c174W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations his Department has had about the abduction of Michelle and Victoria Wolstenholme; what action is being taken; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Renton

Inquiries by the children's mother's solicitors were answered on 15 and 20 August 1984. The only other representations have been the right hon. Gentleman's letters to my right hon. and learned Friend of 24 October and 4 November, to which my right hon. and learned Friend has replied. This correspondence has been copied to Her Majesty's embassy in Madrid and Her Majesty's consulate in Malaga with instructions to bring to the notice of the competent authorities the existence of an English court order declaring the children wards of court and to seek their assistance in tracing the children.
