§ Mr. Ron Daviesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many of the police members of his recent working party on the administration of the Firearms Act 1968 hold for personal use (a) a current shotgun certificate, firearms certificate or firearms dealers' certificates, respectively and (b) have ever held any of the foregoing.
§ Mr. Giles ShawOne of the police members of the working party holds a shotgun certificate and two others have done so in the past; one holds a firearms certificate; and none holds or has ever held, a firearms dealers' certificate. All of the police representatives had had police firearms training.
§ Mr. Ron Daviesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the report of the working party into the administration of the Firearms Act 1968, dated April 1984; and which sections he is considering for incorporation into the revision of the memorandum of guidance to the police on the administration of the 1968 Act.
§ Mr. Giles ShawMy right hon. and learned Friend has asked chief constables to adapt their procedures so that they conform with the working party's recommendations. All the recommendations will be reflected in the revised memorandum.
