§ Mr. Corbynasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the efforts being made by Her Majesty's Government to ensure that the United Nations resolution on the future of Cyprus is carried out.
§ Mr. RentonRecent United Nations Security Council resolutions on Cyprus (for example SCR 541 and SCR 550 of November 1983 and May 1984 respectively) have requested the United Nations Secretary-General to pursue his mission of good offices in order to achieve progress towards a settlement in Cyprus. We have been active with all the parties concerned in support of the Secretary-General's present initiative and stand ready to assist him further.
