HC Deb 13 November 1984 vol 67 c175W
Mr. Corbyn

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the efforts being made by Her Majesty's Government to ensure that the United Nations resolution on the future of Cyprus is carried out.

Mr. Renton

Recent United Nations Security Council resolutions on Cyprus (for example SCR 541 and SCR 550 of November 1983 and May 1984 respectively) have requested the United Nations Secretary-General to pursue his mission of good offices in order to achieve progress towards a settlement in Cyprus. We have been active with all the parties concerned in support of the Secretary-General's present initiative and stand ready to assist him further.
