§ Mr. Skinnerasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will now undertake a comprehensive study into the possible health hazards to operators of video display units; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThe Health and Safety Executive has published a research paper on the human aspects of visual display units and a guidance book. Both publications consider health aspects. The executive is currently preparing a pamphlet for operators which will deal with health aspects, including those relating to women in pregnancy.
The executive is also monitoring the progress of a number of current studies into the possible health effects of using VDUs. The possibility of funding further research is being considered.
