Since the defeat on 4 February 1983 of the Bill introduced by my hon. Friend the Member for Wycombe (Mr. Whitney), which would have repealed these restrictions, nine Members of Parliament have written to my right hon. and learned Friend supporting the reform of the Shops Act 1950.
