§ Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for Employment when he plans to introduce legislation to amend the Race Relations Act 1976 in respect of the code of practice for the elimination of racial discrimination and the promotion of equality of opportunity in employment, published by the Commission for Racial Equality.
§ Mr. Alan ClarkIt remains our intention to amend section 47 of the Race Relations Act to enable the 97W Secretary of State to amend codes of practice before their presentation to Parliament for approval. My right hon. Friend will make an announcement in due course.
