HC Deb 12 November 1984 vol 67 c78W
Mr. Baldry

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what impact will be made upon the budget of the Overseas Development Administration by any grant of funds or food aid by the European Community to Ethiopia.

Mr. Raison

Britain's share of overseas aid expenditure financed from the European Community budget is attributed to the public expenditure allocation for financing the United Kingdom aid programme. The United Kingdom share of the European Community's additional food and other emergency aid for Ethiopia, which has recently been approved, is some £2 million. The rate at which this EC allocation will be spent is uncertain so it is not yet known how much of it will count against the United Kingdom aid budget this financial year.
