§ Mr. Coombsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will announce revised cash limits for the National Health Service for 1984–85 to take account of the pay awards to staff who are not covered by the pay review bodies.
§ Mr. Peter ReesYes. As announced on 17 October by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services cash limits for the NHS will be increased to take 91W account of part of the increased cost arising from these pay awards. Part of the additional cost will be found from efficiency savings within the service. The balance will be charged to the Reserve and has been taken into account in the estimated outturn of the public expenditure planning
