asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what changes will be made to cash limits in 1984–85 which are within his responsibility.

Mr. Younger

The information is as follows:

Class XV, vote 3: regional and general industrial support, Scotland Subject to parliamentary approval of the supplementary estimate the cash limit will be reduced by £2,338,000 to offset an increase on class XV, vote 5: selective assistance and compensation, Scotland.

Class XV, vote 6: roads, transport and environmental services, Scotland Subject to parliamentary approval of the supplementary estimate the cash limit will be reduced by £65,000 to reflect the actual take up of increased provision allowed under the end-year flexibility scheme announced on 31 July 1984 at column 190.

The new cash limits are summarised as follows:
