asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he will make a statement on the draft final report on the early retirement proposals for United Kingdom marine pilots.

I hope it will be possible to make a statement fairly soon.

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he has completed the consultation with the main interested parties following the publication of the Samuel Montagu report on the early retirement of marine pilots published in April 1984.

Yes. I am giving careful consideration to the options that are open.
