HC Deb 09 November 1984 vol 67 cc17-8W
Mr. Wareing

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer which of the recommendations of the Lever report on the debt problems of developing countries he finds acceptable; what plans he has to act on the report; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ian Stewart

I support the Lever report's concern about sustaining non-inflationary financial flows to developing countries, particularly by means of direct investment. I expect my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer to discuss these issues at the special sessions of the interim and development committees next spring.
