§ Mr. Gouldasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1) if he will seek an assurance from the Kidde Corporation that it will continue primary crane manufacture as well as assembly at Coles Cranes in Sunderland;
33W(2) if he will seek an assurance from the Kidde Corporation that Coles Cranes will continue to compete in all its existing international markets and, in particular, in Australia, India and the far east;
(3) if he will seek an assurance from the Kidde Corporation that it will continue mobile crane research and development at Coles Cranes in Sunderland.
§ Mr. FletcherI have received assurances from the Grove division of Kidde Corporation that Grove intends to continue the manufacture of cranes in Sunderland and to develop Coles' operations in world markets.
