§ Mr. MellorNo reliable information is available for specific types of vehicles or separately for each motorway. The available information on total findings of guilt for speed limit offences on motorways is published in table 4 of "Offences Relating to Motor Vehicles, Supplementary Tables 1982", a copy of which is in the Library of the House.
§ Mr. David Youngasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what has been the average fine for speeding imposed by each magistrates bench in England in each of the last five years; and if he will break down the figures as between fines imposed upon (a) private motorists, (b) commercial drivers and (c) bus drivers.
