§ Ms. Harmanasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will amend the instructions given in paragraphs L725, L734, L735, L846 and L1149 of his Department's legal aid instructions, the L code, so as to instruct officials not to pass information on legal aid applicants to officials not concerned with legal aid assessment.
§ Dr. BoysonMy right hon. Friend has issued instructions that the authority for legal aid assessment officers to pass information to other officers for purposes not specified in section 22(1) of the Legal Aid Act 1974 has been suspended.
