HC Deb 24 May 1984 vol 60 c521W
Mr. Gregory

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what the current standing charges are in respect of water for all types of users in each water authority in Northern Ireland; and if he knows of any plans to increase these.

Mr. Chris Patten

The Department of Environment for Northern Ireland is the sole water authority. Domestic consumers do not pay separately for water; a contribution from ratepayers in respect of expenditure on the water service is collected through the regional rate. Non-domestic consumers pay a flat charge of £4.00 per meter per half year. Charges are reviewed annually.
