HC Deb 24 May 1984 vol 60 c454W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) if he will make a statement on his proposals in his consultation paper for a voluntary joint committee of the borough councils to manage London-wide traffic issues;

(2) what provisions there will be for the collection and distribution of on and off-street parking data for use in transport planning as well as for parking policy purposes if the Greater London council is abolished.

Mr. Ridley

We are consulting boroughs over detailed aspects of the reallocation of transport responsibilities, including traffic issues and data collection. When I have concluded my consideration of these matters, I shall inform the House.
