HC Deb 24 May 1984 vol 60 c552W
Mr. Strang

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if the regulations regarding the number of submarines allowed in port at British naval bases also apply to the United States of America bases in Great Britain.

Mr. Stanley

There is only one United States Navy submarine facility in Britain, which is that at Holy Loch where, as in British naval bases, submarines are not limited by number.

Mr. Strang

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will place in the Library a copy of the environmental regulations governing British naval ports.

Mr. Stanley

Within naval bases in Britain the Ministry of Defence has regard to the general body of environmental legislation and statutory environmental regulations, copies of which are in the Library.
