HC Deb 24 May 1984 vol 60 c521W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the latest forecast available in his Department of the likely certification date of the Lear Fan aircraft.

Mr. Butler

Following a further failure of the fuselage during static testing, the company has announced that it now plans, initially, to obtain a certificate of airworthiness for an unpressurised aircraft. This will be followed by a supplementary certificate for a fully pressurised aircraft. The company's latest forecast is that the initial certificate will be obtained by mid-November 1984 and the supplementary certificate by mid-February 1985.
