HC Deb 24 May 1984 vol 60 cc518-9W
27. Mr. Andrew MacKay

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a further statement on devolution in the Province.

Mr. Prior

The Government believe that the needs of Northern Ireland would best be met by the restoration of devolved government on a basis widely acceptable across the community. We remain ready to look at proposals which meet that criterion.
