asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish figures in the Official Report to show the average income of (a) men and (b) women in employment in Great Britain in 1983 expressed in terms of modality.

The range of gross weekly earnings for a full week — in units of £10 — with the largest number of full-time employees in April 1983 was, for men aged 21 and over, £120 to £130—covering 8 per cent. of such employees—and, for women aged 18 and over, £80 to £90—covering 13 per cent. of such employees.
