HC Deb 22 May 1984 vol 60 cc385-6W
Mr. Hooson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many (a) limited companies and (b) single traders and partnerships he estimates are currently on the Inland Revenue's records for Wales.

Mr. Moore

Inland Revenue's records show that there were 19,000 companies in Wales in 1982–83, the latest year for which information is available. Limited companies are not separately identifiable. The number of sole traders and partnerships at that time was probably between 105,000 and 110,000.
