HC Deb 21 May 1984 vol 60 c371W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Defence on how many occasions in the past year Great Britain has made use of the Simonstown naval base in South Africa for supplying men and materials to the Falklands; and what has been the nature of all goods shipped via Simonstown by the United Kingdom Government or contractors or other agents working for or on behalf of the United Kingdom Government.

Mr. Stanley

The Government have made no such use of Simonstown naval base. The shipping arrangements made by those carrying out contracts for the Government are a matter for the contractors concerned.
