HC Deb 21 May 1984 vol 60 c314W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the expected increase in the population of Wales over the age of 75 years in the current year; and what is the expected total increase in provision in local authority part 3 accommodation in each of the county authorities in Wales for the same period.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The expected population increase of those aged 75 or over between mid 1983 and mid 1984 is 4,500. Information about the expected number of residents supported by local authorities in residential accommodation per 1,000 population aged 65 and over is given in the publication Local Authority Social Services Planning Statemens for Wales, Summary No. 6 1981–82 to 1983–84, a copy of which is in the Library.
