HC Deb 18 May 1984 vol 60 c282W
Mr. Gareth Wardell

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many hospital beds there are in the private health sector in the Principality; and how this figure compares with each of the past five years.

Mr. John Stradling Thomas

This information is not available in the form requested. There are currently 246 beds in premises registered under the Nursing Homes Act 1975 which offer acute medical and surgical care. This compares with 200 in 1979, 196 in 1980, 244 in 1981 and 1982 and 246 in 1983 (as at 31 December in each case).
