HC Deb 18 May 1984 vol 60 c299W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on his study of drug abuse prevention in the United States of America.

Mr. John Patten

During my right hon. Friend's visit to the United States he had a meeting with the director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse and visited centres in Washington and New York for the rehabilitation of drug addicts. The information gained will be taken into account particularly in the context of consideration of the prevention report of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs which is expected to be published shortly.
