HC Deb 17 May 1984 vol 60 cc242-3W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretay of State for Energy what information he has as to the percentage of the total radioactive pollution produced in Europe accounted for by discharges from the Sellafield nuclear power station.

Mr. Waldegrave

I have been asked to reply.

Comprehensive and up-to-date information is not available about discharges from nuclear plants in other European countries. The aim of the Government is that discharges from he BNFL site at Sellafield should be substantially reduced at the earliest practicable date, over and above the major reductions already achieved in the last few years.
