Mr. Corbyn

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many applications for entry to the United Kingdom from (a) husbands and (b) fiancés were decided and refused in each quarter of 1983 in each of the following countries: (i) Jamaica, (ii) Nigeria, (iii) Australia, (iv) Canada, (v) the United States of America, (vi) Spain and (vii) the Philippines; and how many refusals were wholly or partly because the primary purpose of marriage was held to be immigration to the United Kingdom.
