§ Mr. Gareth Wardellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what information he has as to the country of origin of the weapon used in the murder of woman police constable Yvonne Fletcher; and whether the gun was purchased through a dealer in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. HurdThe police believe that the weapon was probably a British-made sub-machine gun. But they have insufficient evidence to identify the individual weapon used, and without that they cannot establish how it was acquired.
