HC Deb 15 May 1984 vol 60 c91W
Mr. Dubs

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will take steps to make available to (a) hon. Members and (b) the general public on a regular basis, information about the current and prospective inquiries of all Select Committees, including details of the subjects on which each Committee has issued an invitation for evidence to be submitted to it.

Mr. Biffen

Details of forthcoming public meetings of Select Committees, and of evidence and reports published, appear in theWeekly Information Bulletin of the House; and lists of the subjects of current inquiries are carried by British Telecom's Prestel service. In the light of this and of Select Committees' own awareness of the need to keep hon. Members and the general public informed about their inquiries I do not consider any further steps to be necessary.
