HC Deb 15 May 1984 vol 60 c156W
Mr. Parry

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when the grain stores which were recently contaminated in Liverpool will be reopened; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Fenner

Restrictions on these grain stores will be lifted when they no longer present a risk of disseminating Newcastle Disease. The determinants will include measures taken to birdproof the stores, and the cleansing and disinfection carried out. In the case of stores still containing feedingstuffs ingredients, regard will also be had to the length of time which has elapsed since they were made birdproof. Officials are in discussion with the trade on these matters.
