HC Deb 15 May 1984 vol 60 c152W
Mr. Ashton

asked the Secretary of State for Employment why appeals for refusal of benefit during the National Union of Mineworkers' strike at the Worksop office have been held up for eight weeks; and when they will be heard.

Mr. Alan Clark

Two appeals have been received at Worksop unemployment benefit office. One, dated 19 March, necessitated further inquiries which delayed a decision until 2 May; the claim was allowed by the adjudication officer. The second, made on 8 May, is currently being dealt with.
