§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Energy for what reasons the Waverley report on nuclear energy of 1953 is not to be made available.
§ Mr. Giles ShawThe Waverley report is on an Atomic Energy Authority file held by the Public Record Office. Due to the date of later papers on it, the file is scheduled for release under the 30-year rule on 1 January 1985. However, in view of the hon. Member's inquiry, I have had the contents of the file re-examined and steps are now being taken to release it. The hon. Member will be contacted by the authority as soon as the file is available for inspection.
