HC Deb 14 May 1984 vol 60 c6W
Mr. Ernie Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department from whom he has received representations with respect to the case of Jonathan Bloch; and what has been his response.

Mr. Waddington

My right hon. and learned Friend has received correspondence from the hon. Member, from Mr. Bloch's employers, his solicitors, the American committee to protect journalists and, most recently, the International Commission of Jurists. His response has been, and in respect of the International Commission of Jurists will be, that his decision to refuse Mr. Bloch indefinite leave to remain is now subject to appeal before the independent immigration appeals adjudicator.
