§ Mr. Alan ClarkIt would not be realistic to take an average, as the time taken varies with the complexity of the inquiry. Officials are regularly reminded of the importance we attach to delays being kept to the minimum. If the hon. Member is concerned about a delay on a particular case I would be very willing to look into the matter.
